I used my Easiyo Yogurt Maker for the first time a few days ago and was very impressed by how simple it was. The Yogurt Maker 
Starter Pack includes the yogurt maker, a jar, a yogurt cookbook, a natural yogurt sachet and a real fruit squirt which is a topping to go on your yogurt. You can buy all of these items separately if you need extras or replacements. The only part you will need to buy regularly if you plan to make your own yogurt are the yogurt sachets which come in a number of different flavours including Apricot and Strawberry.
There are only 3 steps to making your own yogurt:
1. Mix the yogurt sachet with cold water in the yogurt jar.
2. Pour boiling water into the yogurt maker up to the line and then put the jar inside.
3. Wait for 8-12 hours for 1 litre of yogurt.
After the yogurt is ready, it is best to leave it in the fridge for a few hours to chill. Otherwise the texture is slightly slimy and warm yogurt just feels and tastes wrong! I used a strawberry flavoured sachet and it tasted exactly like shop bought yogurt so I’m looking forward to trying some of the other flavours. The yogurt cookbook which comes with the Started Pack has some interesting recipes including salad dressings, main courses, cakes and dips. I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet but they look simple enough and have photos to show you what they should look like.
Yogurt made in the Easiyo Yogurt Maker has no colours or preservatives and as it is freshly made, contains more absorbable calcium than milk. Yogurts also contain live cultures which have a limited life so freshly made yogurt is better for you than shop bought stuff.
You can buy the Easiyo Yogurt Maker at Lakeland, Julian Graves and Holland & Barrett. The Starter Pack costs £19.99 in Lakeland with the sachets costing around £10 for 6 depending on the flavour. £10 for 6 litres seems to work out slightly cheaper than similar shop bought yogurts (that’s from looking on the Tesco website!) so you should make your money back on the Started Pack if you keep on making your own yogurt.
